Pax Custom Woodworking is me: Scott Leming.

Pax means “peace” in Latin, and peace is the feeling I get when I step into my shop and work with wood. Every time I step into that space, time disappears and I get lost in the work. Woodworking is my passion.
I discovered this shortly after getting married. My wife Alicia and I were young, happy married, and poor, so we decided that instead of buying Christmas gifts, we would go dumpster diving for wood pallets and make gifts for our family members.
So I brushed the dust of my middle school shop lessons, bought a table saw and some screws, and built a coffee table, media console, Japanese style garden bridge, a wall clock, and a key chain holder.
From that point, something happened inside me that I haven’t been able to get rid of. Friends and strangers alike began to notice my work and asked me to make custom pieces for them.
I love the challenges that new projects bring, whether it’s a farmhouse style table, a custom fireplace mantel, a set of sliding barn doors, or a custom gaming table with storage, I love working with customers to bring a unique vision to life.
Feel free to browse my past projects for some examples of my work and contact me to talk about your idea. I would love to work with you!
